10 years of Hyperwave 10 years of innovation
Hyperwave has its roots in a research project begun at the Technical University in Graz, Austria. The project led to the development of a unique hypermedia system in 1989. With the integration of Internet standards a server solution took shape in 1994 that already featured integrated search mechanisms, sophisticated hyperlink management, access controls, dynamic HTML generation, etc. – years later this type of server solution became to be known as a Content Management System.
Then…
In light of the technology’s commercial potential, Hyperwave was founded in 1997. From the very beginning the management of business content was of central focus, which led to the significant expansion of the solution’s feature set – the resulting technology, known as ‘Knowledge Management’, drew considerable attention in subsequent years.
In 2000 Hyperwave began to develop its solution further into a complete application suite for Collaborative Knowledge Management and integrated add-on products for eLearning, team collaboration, workflow optimisation and portal operation. The ‘Smart Enterprise Suite’ propagated by the Gartner Corporation since 2003 mirrors this approach – Hyperwave was again years ahead of the technological curve.
…and now
Today, as a business with university origins, Hyperwave is driven foremost by innovation: technological trends are identified early by the company and developed into market-ready products. This technological edge is the reason for the numerous awards and commendations Hyperwave has received in recent years.
The integration of eLearning and web conferencing solutions in the new release of the Hyperwave Server Platform IS/6 has contributed significantly to the fact that Hyperwave is now excellently positioned to take the lead in the internationally growing market for Collaborative Information Management (CIM)-Solutions.
